About internet speeds. In New Zealand, on THE FASTEST home-practical net connection, i download at about 50 kbps from a us server. This is probably up to 100 kbps on an aussie server, but not much is on those.
I came over to california on a holiday, and at this place where idk if there is even super hi-speed... 650 kbps.
That is such a slap in the balls it isn't even funny.
Over here, sro takes about 25 minutes to dl, over there it would take... 6-7 hours?
How fast can you guys dl? I heard in south korea it can get up to 25 megabits (3 mbps)... dayumn!

Your depressed?
I STILL live in NZ, I'm trying to find Medieval 2 Total war which costs $15 on the Net but none of them delivers to NZ and the ones that do are out of stock. While they cost like $100 in shops.

Best part about NZ is its rare guns.
Save your cash and buy a Dragunov Tigr or a PPSh41 with a 71 round drum magazine.

It varies for me.
It depends on if i have torrents running, how hot my router/modem (wtf?) and where i am downloading from.
on a regular day I'll be getting 250 kb/s on File front. On a good day I'll get 500 kb/s. on a rare day I'll get 1000 kb/s. on bad days it's either 2 kb/s to 95 kb/s. (seems to be happening more lately)

Filefront usually has awesome download servers anyway.
And they tend to get better speeds on larger files.

The current "home standard" that you can get nearly everywhere is 16000kbit/s | 1024kbit/s here (GER). That's my line's specs as well. I started with 768kbit/s, then went to 2000kbit/s, 6000kbit/s until here. Upload speed always doubled for each of those lines. Another thing is that we barely have any cable internet providers, like 90% of the market is DSL via phone line.
In certain cities you can get 50 or 100MBit fibre glass connections of course.

Right as I read that my internet DC'd. I live in Qld Australia, and erm. Everything downloads at 50-70kb/s. Though I'm on a 512 - 24GB a month plan, that costs $80 per month. I recently went around the world, and EACH country I went to had internet far faster than it is here. London was fast, Rome was fast, Paris was fast, Orlando, L.A, New York, ALL FAST. Here it's zzz, and chances are your internet DC's before you finish downloading something, and all firefox does is 'Retry' not even 'Continue'.
/rant.

We don't need them, that's why.
I spoke to an American when I was in L.A, and he said that Australia must be devastated without guns. I had a totally blank face on, proving how little Americans know about some things. The right to bare arms isn't everything here. You're only allowed to fight back in self-defense in 'equal force'.
Yea, you can have them but you need a license, most are smuggled in, but it is illegal.

Idk about NZ but i know Aus crime did go up after they banned them, law biding civilians turned their weapons in but the criminals didnt. So you judge a whole group of Americans cause someone said that. Ive been over the laws in Aus, theres so many reports done by government groups on how crim went up. Farking ignorant to judge a whole on a few.

-.- Guns aren't necessary in Australia - Crime rates went up because there were no guns? =x
When crime rates go up, so do the restrictions on guns.
Many Australians (765,000 or 5.2% of Australian adults as of August 2007[1]) legally own and use firearms for hunting, the control of feral animals, and target shooting. Low levels of violent crime through much of the 20th century kept levels of Government concern about firearms low. However, in the last two decades, following a number of mass killings and rising public concern, the Australian State Governments have, with Federal Government co-ordination, enacted more restrictive firearms legislation.
Crime in the United States is characterized by relatively high levels of gun violence and homicide, compared to other developed countries.
Between 1991 and 2001, the number of firearm related deaths in Australia declined 47%.
The US Firearm related violence is far higher than that of Australia. Australia has a smaller population, but all sources use statistics per 100,000 people.

If you take away guns, 1]People will want them more and 2]Crime will go up. Putting a ban on virtually anything that society enjoys could bring crime rates up. This includes Firearms and Drugs. Weeee \o/

If you like shooting, by all means join a pistol/rifle club. They're allowed there, though you need a license.

Killing people? No, Society likes the "peace of mind" that comes with owning a gun. If you put a ban on Guns then Gun related crimes increase because the wrong people can still get the guns and still kill innocents.

Doesn't work like that here - not very often at least - We've had very few large scale massacres, the US; let's not go there.

Lol, we don't have massacres. As a matter of fact, massacres are rare in most countries. What I'm talking about is people getting shot. Gun Crimes don't have to be large or ornate planned little stints. I'm not talking two School Shootings. Serious business though, a lot of psychology backs my statements.

Yes, and having no / very little gun laws allows anyone to have a gun. Whether that other person has a gun or not it's a matter of who pulls the trigger first. Gun Related Violence in the US is higher than any other country! There's no denying that!
