Ok well I was bored so I was browsing through my computer, and I found Fl Studio. I listened to songs that were in the folder, and they inspire me to try and make some music to. Everytime I try and make some music however, it always ends in frustration. I just dont get how these people come with beats. Its hard for me to pull them out of no where. For some reason I do better if I start off with some sort of beat to get me going.

writing a song can be tuff. for me i just jam on my guitar and i figure out something cool. perhaps clever. do you play an instrument?

Lol nope. I played the flute back in 5th grade though . Btw im trying to make hip-hop/ Techno/trance beats. None of that rock/country stuff.

one of my friends make a short techno song using a program but i forgot the name...

I dunno, I always have a different beat going in my head somehow. If I had the tools to do it, I could make a solid groove in no time.

oh btw.. im not writing a song.. Im actaully making it on a program called FL studio on my computer. I can use any instrument, and like an endless supply of different sounds and stuff

back in the day i used to play the piano, flute, chinese flute, guitar, harmonica

quit everything but guitar, starting a bit piano again though, still cant make anything that sound good

Lol I played the flute for 5th grade band haha then I quit cuz everyone said the flute was for girls. I really liked it though, but ehh watever. Never played an instrument again after that. Music is inspirational to me though, and I wish I could come up with some nice music on this program.

thats why music artist get paid so well not everyone can make music, I always have beats going through my head so i figure i would try out the FL studios also but couldn't do anything.

I don't have problems with inspiration with FL studio, I just don't know how. Anyone know of some tutorial sites/forums?

Unsurprisingly, Youtube.

I'm making my 17th Trance song in FL studio now, and I have to say the best way to get inspiration is to pick a synth, press f7, and do a basic up-down trance beat (ie c6, c5, c6, c5 or something to that effect). Usually after playing with different instruments you'll eventually get inspiration.

I also do FL Studio.
I can make a bit melodies and beats but it never fits together so I always shut down the program. -.-
