Learned about this recently in a Sociology class, and just remembered it, so I figured I'd share it with you guys.

Penis panics in southeast Asia have become known under the term "Koro" (which means "head of the turtle" in Malay). Koro most commonly describes the extreme fear that the penis is retracting into the body, including the idea that such retraction will bring about death. It can also refer to beliefs of "genital theft" or some kind of sorcery which has resulted in the loss of the penis. Sometimes the testicles are also believed to be affected. Koro also tends to reflect a certain xenophobia among some groups, whereby foreigners are often blamed as the ones behind the "attacks".
An epidemic struck Singapore in 1967, resulting in thousands of reported cases. Government and medical officials alleviated the outbreak only by a massive campaign to reassure men of the anatomical impossibility of retraction together with a media blackout on the spread of the condition.

Note: For those of you thinking "oh, it's wikipedia, no reason to pay attention", I learned about this from an anthropologist who spent 2 years researching Koro. It does exist, and currently, it's caused over 1 million deaths in China alone.

You'd be surprised what the mind can do. Ever hear of the Bloody Mary Experiment? They got a bunch of people who truely believed that going into a dark room, looking into a mirror, and saying "Bloody Mary" 3 times would kill them. After having them attempt this, over half were dead.

yea theyre just sad they have 2 inch pennises, its probably 2inches from the get-go and as they get closer to their max height of 5'6 (unless you're yao ming) and start eating more rice balls they gain weight and height and their genitals start to look smaller.
