post counts on forums
be honest, do u think that people with higher post counts know more than people with lower post counts?
sadly, i tend to take advice from people with higher post counts more often than low post count people.

it matters in one way...
knowledge > post count
however it's easier to trust someone who has been here for sometime and has reasonable post count. (except for pilot, he had 300 in 3 days

Re: post counts on forums
PC just seems to give off a more finite and solid feeling as compared to knowledge. People will sway towards those with a larger post count as they see them as a larger more prominent deity compared to those under 1k and such. Truly though, knowledge and wisdom is of course more important, but really, don't those traits usually pertain to our elders?

Don't listen to these guys, you know half the people looking for credibility are going to see that fat number in the thousands before the guy with less than 100. Not sayin' it's true, that's just the way it is.

Re: post counts on forums
Post count helps you define who has the most knowledge I guess... I mean, it's not 100%, but usually those with higher post counts have been here longer and have learned more, and are obviously accepted by the community, because if they weren't, they'd be banned or shunned or leave because they're pissed off.
I usually listen to people who I recognise though, familiar names and such, or if someone just thinks like me or sounds very knowledgable, then I'll listen to them. Or I'll listen to someone if I have no preconcieved notions about an idea, and they are the only one to answer as of yet.
So in short: Sort of.

O lilly??
But hey, there was this Admin.. god,...
Admin What's His Face, who just fades next to his four big brothers, Ryoko, SuicideGrl, Key-J and The Helper(which I had never heard of before untill he started spamming the Winz The Internetz thread, of course.) The first three have been here the longest, I mean, Ry0 owns the damn place, Sui is the master of tha banhammer and Key is one of the most trustworthy faces here.
Admin What's His Face never showed his face around here, and I believe he has a post count of..
I dunno.. how much is low?
But another example:
Me.
I've been here for over a year, and my post count is higher then a lot of people who have been here waaaay longer then me.
iSpam OTL...
(And also a big part of my posts is from the AC, from my month of making signatures...

Usually it is not very relevant, but it also depends on the question.

It's not that important, but I want it to be known that my post count is in proportion to the size of my man tool.

No. I didn't say that that's a rule of thumb, I said that mine's in proportion to the average post count of this forum. Everyone that has Zypher on msn knows that the post-count-penis-size isn't always a true correlation.

I'm pretty sure subconsciously it's relevant.
For example, in the back of your head, you know that my post really has no significance compared to one of the posting powerhouses' post here.

Most people do.
Cause people with much are longer a part of the Silkroad community, so generally they know more of the game than others.
GENERALLY!

You have a point.
For example, I've only noticed what Barotix posts after he had 1k + posts. Same goes with cin (at that time).

depends, i would trust someone with 1000x posts more than someone with 1x posts if they uploaded a file.

Re: post counts on forums
post count means shit, what matters is your contributions, sure iv got one of the biggest post counts but iv also been here a long long long time and iv helped out a lot of people in that time too, added some intresting threads and much more. while others ie blackfox managed to spam up a post count on total, utter shit
