So who listens to noise?

Anyone but me? I'm talking about artists/bands like:

Merzbow
Masonna
Melt Banana
Government Alpha
The Gerogerigegege
KK Null
Incapacitants
Violent Onsen Geisha

etc.

It's an acquired taste for sure, but on every forum I visit there seems to be at least a few people who appreciate this kind of anti-music. xD

EDIT: Here are a few videos, just in case you have no idea what I'm talking about. ;)

BUT BE CAREFUL, TURN THE VOLUME DOWN

Government Alpha:

Merzbow:

Melt Banana (I love this song):

hehehe, like George Carlin said

"looks like a flashback of all the drugs absorbed orally and rectally by the 60's generation."

this case "sounds" like it.

Melt Banana sounds like DJ skinhead and Hardcore Punk together

here is my noise, though the technical term for it is rather

actually, nothing compared to real, raw, unedited noise >_<

Spoiler!

"Noise" only leads to Tinnitus, so i pass

well according to a person's comment on youtube on one of the songs libertarian posted:

"Anybody - especially a musician - that calls Melt Banana talentless is ignorant. They're extremely deliberate in crafting their noisy-as-hell music, pushing sonic boundaries, and defying conventions. As a musician, I respect them - I have no idea how Agata can produce the sounds he does with his guitar, and am eternally jealous. They write great bass licks, too."

whatever that means.

You're just ignorant. If you think it's EASY to make noise you're very, very mistaken. But if you want to prove me wrong, then make a noise album and send it to a record company and have it released. I mean, since it takes no skill...

And yes, Melt Banana is a band of VERY talented musicians, their guitarist especially has completely reinvented the electric guitar.

Definitely not my thing. Melt Banana was the only thing close to being remotely decent. But to say he reinvented the electric guitar is a pretty bold statement to make...

And why would he make an album of this genre if he hated it? Just because he could/couldn't doesn't mean he will/won't.

No, you couldn't. Playing the guitar with your hands while playing the pedals with your feet isn't as easy as you might think. And if you think it is, you should start playing the pipe organ. Usually it requires years of practice, but since it's "all pedals" I bet you could just sit down and do it, right? xD

No, i couldn't do it sitting down, and yes it is easy, trust me, my friends do it all the time.

Doesn't matter, he doesn't need to use all the pedals at once

It's okay guys, we can just market it as "avant-garde" and it will fly off the shelves. The future will remember the great works of art the twentieth and twenty-first centuries produced. First No. 5, 1948 and now Noise.
