What's sad is that she died for no reason. Being emo isn't about being suicidal, it's about being anti-conformist and calling for the metaphorical death of current society. In other words, it's about dressing bad to let people know you're different and special; it's not about death or satanism, that's closer to being a goth.

Although I've never been a fan of emo music (in fact I see it mostly as a genre of music that is now standardized for mainstream consumption with bands that sound exactly the same) I think people are being too quick to blame that music for this, especially since most often they have no clue what the music is actually about. Music has been blamed before for suicides, like with Ozzy Osborne's "Suicide Solution" or Judas Priest's song "Better by you, Better by me" and with both cases they didn't find a definitive connection between the lyrics and someone committing suicide because of it. I highly doubt that the reason she committed suicide was because of the music and for all we know there could have been other circumstances that resulted in the suicide like maybe a previous cycle of chronic depression or what not.

that's not as bad as the emo mexican girl that was stomped to death in mexico.

Maybe this will teach the little scene kiddies that they're not "hardcore."

I am sure this happens every day, nothing to be sad over.

Kinda lame how far that whole Emo bullshit is going though.

I'd like to know the reasons she had to do it (her true reasons, the emo thing seems to be what they thought was more probable but i saw no reference to a note or letter or anything where she said it herself).

I don't like judging someone's actions without them telling me what resons they have to do it and even then, they can lie about those reasons. This article is vague about that matter, it is just yelling "EMO!! SUICIDE!!".

I really really really really really really hate emo kids. I had to send my best friend to the hospital because she was cutting herself, they were really deep and so me and another friend of hers got the guidance counselors involved and they sent her to teh hospital. She'd attempted suicide twice before then... and since then I've hate emo kids more then anything. Suicide's the stupidest thing ever.

@Blackdragon I'm not saying your sister-in-law's motives were pathetic (i don't even know them), i'm just using the word to say that no suicide, under any circumstance (even if they aren't the most noble) should be laughed at.

My bad, i meant conscious suicide, not accidental or unintended. And even in the last one which was intended, what is there to laugh at? The guy was just an idiot (judging by the apparent reason for him to do it) and i don't find idiocy to be funny, just sad.
