to me biology is harder, phsyics is just math and alot less stuff to remember, biology is way too many facts and chemical names abreiviations that aren't actually what the compound is made off, blah give me phsyics any day over biology

physics is way harder or at least for me.
I don't have biology anymore but when I used to have it was just learning, a lot. Whereas physics requires insight and loads more understanding.
Of course when you understand it it can appear to be simple but physics can take on such complicated formulas it's not funny anymore.

try quantum mechanics, that shit will leave you confused.

Basically just a mix of Chem and physics.

String Theory? Black holes? Multiple dimensions? That cannot be a mix of Chem and Physics.

Physics is more comprehensive than biology,i think..
After some time you start to learn those biological terms, but in physics you learn it,then you see that more complex topics come :)

Physics is harder, because you have to really understand whats happening and understand it.
Biology is more of plain learning.

That is in my case :)

Had my exams this week, i think i did alright but they were hard.

other peoples opinions don't matter.

it depends on your teacher and your personal tastes. You could really like biology but your teacher might be a jerk, and you'll hate the class.
Or you might not like physics but your particular teacher could make it fairly easy and you'd like it.

Having them next 2 weeks :(

Physics is a piece of cake, bio too...Only thing I hate is the converting of things @ chemistry. Math is pretty do-able too, you can find almost everything in 'Binas' (a book here in the Netherlands that is allowed to be used with the exams :) )

The answer to your question is this question: Are you good at math?

And that's why I'm so great at Bio. Numbers hate me... ¬¬
Languages on the other hand... ^ ^

Chem is easy for me.
Bio isn't that hard as well. Both plain biology and biochem.

Physics is a pain in the ass. I hated that course at college big time.

Time to lend me that binas cause mine doesn't have any math related stuff in it, only chemistry/physics.

Luckily I don't roll that way anyways, I picked EM and having the easiest year ever with the changed system (4VWO).

Because you're going to be doing string theory in anything other than 400+ level classes? Basic black holes aren't too difficult to understand.

Quantum isn't too tough if you follow along the development of the theory, everything sort of falls into place when you combine all the postulates leading up to it. It's a little tough to connect the wave function to a particles motion, but once you get past that, it's pretty cool. Plus getting this joke is great...

Bio is pretty much all rote memorization. Physics is taking a law/principle/etc and looking at it's application. Chem is a mix of memorization and laws/principles.

To be honest, I'd say physics is the best example of pure science. So many disciplines take stuff from physics, it's ridiculous.

Ok..perhaps not math then =/ But thats why you get a wisforta at the exams xD (a little booklet with all kind of math equation stuff etc etc)

if your good at math you'll lean towards physics. Not sure where biologist fall but its really just ALOT of facts, definitions and systems to learn. Chemistry is a mix of both so to be a good chemist you'll need to have a good understanding of physics and if your a good chemist you'll gain a good understand of biology.

for me, in order of hardest to easiest its

physics>Chemistry>biology

It is my oppinion that Chemistry is the hardest of the three.
It seems to be full of general rules that dont actually apply to anything haha

Biology is a heavy knowledge subject and requires a good memory but good understanding isnt really needed.

Physics is knowledge with the application of that knowledge

For me physics is probably the easier of the three but that purely becauase i enjoy work on Particle physics although i hate the mechanics sections of physics.

Chemistry is easily the most difficult for me..... to many rules and mechanisms to remember

(and please excuse my spelling :P)

Agreed.

I have more of a preference for Physics than I do Biology(it's wasn't hard, and I had a good teacher, but it just wasn't interesting to me.)

I have a bio field class over next summer's term - it's going to suck having to take water/soil samples, trap bugs and stuff, in the Farking hot and mosquito infested area =[

I won't say I'm really good in math but if you compare bio and math I would go with math. Math is easier than bio you only have to remember the formulas and the process and you're good to go. But in bio there's just too many things to remember scientific names, organisms, those weird names too, and lot more.

Mhmmm, but what if you can't pull of a combo? Then it's bio for you my friend ^ ^
