Okay, so im the smarter one of my sibling, and hes a complete dumbshit. Me and my parents think its because hes on the computer all the time, and I agree sort of, but then I think of myself, and how much time i've spent on the computer, and how "knowledgeable/smart" I am now, I think "then why the hell isnt my brother like me?". Like 30% of the shit I learned is from the internet lol

and a bunch of it was from here lol

I have learned so much from the internet and am thankful for it.
Part of it is because of meting Intelligent people.
The other part is just things you can gradually learn about life from just lookin around.

whenever i come across something interesting that i dont know about i google it, probably end up reading about it for half hour and if i get to wiki its even worse, this happens

I know lots of useless crap thats never going to help me in the real world thanks to the internet.

When i was a kid though not many people had the internet and when i did finally get it we had dial up for ages and the amount of information availale wasnt as extensive as it is now. Right now most of the stuff its teaching me is to do with programming but the problem is that the internet is full of bad programmers so you have to be careful.

So anywho, i guess its taught me something.

well it's definitely taught me english way better.
My english lessons take 0 effort at all and most of my friends who also play games experience the same :)

I used to have an english mozilla firefox but I accidentaly pressed I live in Holland at the installation of vista and now I can't change it. Most of the things I install automatically choose for the dutch language pack. Anyways, I don't have an english spell checker on this one which I miss, that one has definitely taught me a lot of things.

It has taught me a few things, but not everything can be taught on the internet.

I want to vote partial but that option is lacking.

Like two or three years ago, I would always do run on sentences. Since everyone got pissed I started actually using periods, and commas. I also like learn and read up on history that I look up on the internet. People always rag on me for knowing about stuff that I learn on the internet. But why should I care at least I know the stuff.

agree....

but....

It can also backfire, the gaming part...

I have the best English grades in my class, so once my teacher asked me to check some tests from the others...

And what I came across almost made me shit seven colors...

This guy who games a lot, used U instead of You, and all this other little english things from games...

That's why I always type with good english, even in SRO...

But SRF once even helped me with my homework, it was last year...

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=45021&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=homework

loll...

Well I think the internet fucks up your grammar. When you see a bunch of people typing all this bullshit with no punctuation it rubs off on you :banghead: and you start using phrases like 'EPIC FAIL'. Extremely dumb.

I have learned a lot of cool stuff through forums and youtube though :D

like how to blow shit up

+1000000 the saaaaaaaaaaame thing here. if i find something interesting (especially online >.>) i'll spend about 30mins-1hr reading about it and just end up 'surfing' the web for random sites regarding the subject. nowadays..if i have nothing to do...i just go to wikipedia and read up the random articles of the day. just adding to my own database ^_^

The internet has also taught me not to trust anyone. And to search more deeply into things if there's ever any doubt.

I'd probably gain most of my knowledge from the internet, but in a wider range than I would from a book.
Books are more for vocabulary and grammar.

I'm pretty sure you don't get much hands on practice with writing while reading a book.
