I always had intel for processor and never had any problems with.
AMD was the better for a while, but since dual core; Intel is King again.

ATI (is now property of AMD) also had it's moment of glory; 9700/9800 PRO; but now NVIDIA is the true master when it comes to graphic cards.

Its really opinion. But to be factual atm its NVIDIA and Intel, ATI and AMD use to be the top, with their FX CPU and X800 GPU.

So true, the new radeon HD 3850 doesnt even come near the 9800gtx2 in benchmark tests lol. I myself have owned a nvidia, and now i have radeon x1650. Radeon run much hotter than nvidia and use more power i have noticed.

AMD's problem is that it was always the cheaper solution and built for gamers, now Intel is cheaper and the processors are good all around, while amd's are only good for games still, even though they cant compare to intels dual cores even in that field.

Ati always sucked imo, always overheated, always froze up, always reseted the monitor for no good reason, I used to have an old GeCube ati 9600 xt card, i couldnt play sro for 30 minutes it would already overheat.

One thing you have to remember is that the discussion only applies to top end technology. For example, should you go to the store and have a choice between two GFX cards, one being ATI and the other being Nvidia, both comparable in price: the ATI one is on sale, and although ATI is behing in the race, their higher end cards are better than the midrange/low end Nvidia cards. It's always about cost/performance, and sometimes you can find a better deal getting an AMD or ATI for cost/performance ratio and end up with something that performs better than products from Intel and Nvidia from the same price range - this is especially true if you're shopping online, where they will often price their products according to stock, and with Intel processors selling much better, a big stock of AMD processor of comparable performance could get a huge price drop.

atm you only go for AMD if you want to go budget because Intel > AMD by far.
