Actually thats rather common lol. 1TB is eay to get, Ultras lolz sucks they are obsolete now doesnt it. lightscribe is like a $2 feature now, 8 gig or ram, if your not using 64-bit its useless. but 64-bit isnt worth it now anyway, as most things wont take advantage of it.

lol.

i have a friend with an octo-core processor.
12tb storage, idk about the rest.

just the casing cost 180 euro, weighs 16kg.

and that's his workstation. if he likes it, he's going
to buy another one to use as a server.

u ask why?

because they can :]

Lol, I'm gonna upgrade soon though with new motherboard so it will allow me to get 16GBS of ram, and why I need so much power? 3D Modeling ^_^, but the cards are old now, but they are more powerful than a single 9800, and they don't have good drivers for them yet anyway, but these cards will last me for a lil longer, them I'm gonna SLI 9800's when they're at their best. Thats what you call getting paid more than minium wage to do nothing while being under 18 ^_^

I have a feeling the 9800's will be shitty cause of the hybridpower thing, turns off your graphics card when you're not using 3d applications, which means it has to start it back up when you start a game or whatever... waste of time if you ask me

Anyways heres my thingie http://www.xfire.com/profile/crothanatos/

I'll post pictures later in low rez. :p

Shouldn't there be an "S" after "rig"? Some of us have more than one.

For that matter, maybe I can post my server specs :P . woohoo!

What program do you use for 3D? I wanted to try and get into doing some of that stuff.

afaik, there's a couple, depending on what you want to do with em.

Engineering programs:
- SolidWorks (that's the program i use much)
- Pro Engineer
- Rhino
- Autodesk Autocad (but that's based on 2D)

3D Modelling programs:
- the ones named above
- 3D studio max
- Cinema4D
- Autodesk Maya

3D Animation programs:
- Lightwave
- Autodesk Maya
- Animation Master

that's the ones i know of (probably forgot some, but there's so many
nowadays, it's hard to choose.)

3Dmax is afaik the easiest program of the lot, because you can "clay"
a bit, and get nice renders with little efford. the programs at the
top of the list are mostly used after you've written down the correct
dimentions first, therefor i put them on the engineering list. the
bottom ones are mostly used for animation, though maya is such a huge
program it's used for architecture and modelling as well, but it's a
hard program to learn. cinema4d is a nice rendering program, but uses
weird terms compared to the other programs listed. they use hyper nurbs
instead of extrudes for example.
