1. It is a complex question that rests on a questionable assumption and all answers appear to endorse that assumption.
2. It is an example of Bifurcation / False Dilemma (reducing the choices needlessly down to 2).
3. It assumes that when two things occur together they MUST THEREFORE be related in a causative manner.
4. It is a sweeping generalization in that it applies a general statement too broadly.

And then you see threads like, Location List, Deface Other People's Face thread, Who Are You thread, Birthday Calandar, Wins Teh Internetz and others who just get bumped a lot because people are interested, want to let people know something, or just mkae people laugh...

If you've been on longer then you see it yourself, it's not a thing anyone can say for sure, because some threads just end up in flamefest, ongoing and ongoing, and somethreads are just plain hard discussions, ongoing and ongoing...

I reckon they are generally more popular with pictures, unless, as stated, it is a retarded picture. I don't know what the rules are on forum drawing, but I like those pictures too. (pictures drawn with text things)

Line Art with Text (sometimes called ASCII drawings) are difficult here

because the spaces are auto-truncated.
