As i understand from it
If you beleive of god and he exists you go to heaven if he doesnt then you lose nothing
If you dont he exists then you go to hell if you he doesnt you gain nothing
I dont agree with it because there are many religions so you cant randomly choose agod and believe in it

What do you think?

In order to believe in god and go to heaven or any version of that depending on what religion, you have to truly believe and devote at least part of your life to it. So in essence, you do lose stuff, mainly time and sanity.

its not bunk its a sound theory based on perspective. In Pascals opinion the pros outweigh the cons. The link you provided Nuke doesn't diminish Pascal's theory it just points out alternative perspectives.

Anyway i'll take my chances. I only get one life, im not going to live it in servitude to anyone.

Maybe you need to reread a couple times. It's bunk. The wager doesn't take into account other circumstances.
Or perhaps you need knowledge of the scientific method?
At least you're not a believer. You have that much going for you. :P

I know the scientific method and i know the wager doesn't take in the certain circumstances but those are criticisms based on perspective. Pascals wager is not a scientific formula meant to be applied to everyone nor was was it ever intended to be. For what it is using the circumstances and perspectives Pascal placed forward the wager is in no way bunk and makes perfect sense.

False choices don't make perfect sense.

Under the circumstances that pascal places forward there are no false choices....

The wager is limited to what he wanted to get across. Agreed?
If so, then it is a false choice.
If not, then this conversation is over.

Believing in God or doing good for the sole reason of not going to Hell strips the actions of their siginificance and would damn you to hell anyways.

The soundest belief is to believe that God is as kind and gentle as they say, live your life as a proper human being, and if God does exist he should excuse you for your ignorance because you have lived a good life.
