I just formatted and installed Vista (this isn't my gaming PC and i like the Vista interface more), and for some weird reson, the memory from my video card went from 256 to 886 or something like that. I went to system information and it says that the extra 600+ MB are "shared". What does it mean? it had never happened and had always said "256.0 MB". Why is it now that shared thing? I've seen some cards that claim to have, let's say 256 MB and they have 128 physical and 128 shared, but mine has no information of that kind on the box.

I'm not totally clueless about computer stuff it's just that it seemed weird that suddenly that thing appeared. Anyone know what might be the reason?

I think that's how much RAM that's being shared to your Video Card.
