Here's a story that my dad always used to tell me:

Story wrote:There once was a great flood.
Everyone was told to evacuate two weeks before the flood, but a man, who's faith was as strong as David's, stayed behind.

I don't know why this is such a shock to people though, this happens left right and centre in religions like Jehova's Wittness'. They wont accept blood transfusions, so if a member of their family is bleeding to death and could be saved by having a blood transfusion they don't let it happen. They'll let them die.

Yeah i agree.

The punishment for the father of this child should be what's in your sig, but instead of stomping on him they should use sledge hammers, that'll make sure he'll never have kids again.

It's disgusting to know there are such things in this world. Parents neglecting their children, as if their children know what to do in extreme circumstances. Being so young they look to their parents for guidance and in this instance this child was lead down the pathway of death. Unbelievable!

It's also stupid how:

The girl's parents, Dale and Leilani Neumann, attributed the death to "apparently they didn't have enough faith,"

I'm sure that this little girl had placed faith in her parents to take care of her. Where did that lead?

Natural selection. Are the parents horrible humans? Yup. Did the girl deserve to die? Yup.
I don't care if my parents are mentally retarded and don't know the best for me, I still seek help or go to a hospital or pharmacy on foot if I must. She either refused help, refused to seek it, or believed like her parents. Either way she was dumb, and now she's dead.
Tragic story but the girl was ultimately negligible to herself.

At her age, that's not entirely stupidity. She was raised and cared for by her parents (until this incident) and from this, a strong filial piety and trust were formed. She's 11 for goodness' sake. The responsibility entirely rests in the parents' hands.

On the other hand, if our species evolved following typical semelparous strategy, with little or no parental care, I'd say it's her fault.
