India's Baby Farms

Post by Key-J »

Hey Guys,

Tiss me again. :D

Well, i know some of you will remember that quetionaire i did on Destiny some time ago, let me just say many thanks for that, i truly did appreciate that, and it was all good.

Until....

Two days ago XD. When we had a practice presentation, my partner kinda backed away from the topic, and in turn my TOK teacher pulled down her backing of our topic, so we stayed in school till like 6:30pm, working out a new topic, which the teacher approved and stuff. and well im happy to say i got one :)

Indian Baby Farms:

Article Here:

Now, i need you to give me yall point of view again, i know sorry but it helps my grade if i got a public opinion. So yeah. Anything would be much appreciated.

You could be for, or against it, you could not have a side but just an opinion. and as before, if you dont wana post here, just PM. All will be kept confidential if you wish it so.

Thanks for doing this again guys, i do appreciate what you guys say, and it does get used. Unfortunately i just had to change my Topic, is why im asking you again. My presentation is on Tuesday, so ill be using things i get by Monday.

That's new i guess you kind of know it can happen but you never really think of it. However i totally agree with this. Afterall this is way better than adopting because that means the baby never goes through a period of negelection in its life. From Day 1 you know its going to a good home where people expect it and have planned for it and know they want it bad enough to have went as far as using a surrogate i think they call it. The women make money for it ok yea thats chool whats the difference in that and an adopting agency. Just like any other business these women are being paid for a service they provide. The moral side would be more related to the fact if the mother could still love the baby as if it were her own even though it did in fact not come from her womb. Obviously this is a good cause as its helping less fortunate families worldwide. Sounds proffessional enough as they have a whole team of nurses, nutritionists, and doctors standing by at a moments call. This in fact is probably a more healthy birthing environment than what most American empregnated women experience. think that wraps it up :D best of luck with your paper

I don't see many problems with it. Its good that ppl who otherwise wouldn't be able to have babies can have a child of their own now. The only shameful thing i can see is that women can only have but so many babies b4 they start having problems and complications. The money they are making isn't enough for them to move out of india and live in a better country more comfortably its just enough to make them wealthy by india low-mid class standards. That being said once they've had all the babies they can they'll probably be tossed aside and left to deal with the consequences on their own.

In a way though its still human trafficking and only a matter of time b4 someone else picks up on this business and uses it to exploit more women in india or girls rather seeing as females can become pregnant as young as 12-13 probably younger nowadays. I wouldn't mind it if the mothers were making the decision on their own to do this and setting up with he client and what not but i can help the feeling that a price is being put on the women involved and they're being herded around doing whatever they're told like sheep to eek out a living. It just feels so corporate which isn't what child birth should be even if its not the normal means of child birth. But maybe im just being paranoid.

Hmmm, reading that article it makes it sound all nice and happy, and I'm not seeing a bad word about it, I'm not sure how much more research you're required to do on it, but maybe see if you can find some responses from the biological mothers and what their feelings are after the birth. What happens if she changes their mind about giving up the baby? I see that the fertilized egg is implanted into the surrogate mother. What kinds of restrictions are in place if say during pregnancy the child is determined to be unhealthy and the donaters want to abort, or don't want a "defective" child. Do they get to make that choice? what if the surrogate refuses? Is there a refund? Are they responsible for the child no matter what. What kind of rules are in place for later in the child's life if he wants to find the mother that gave birth to the child, can they? What happens if the child or surrogate dies in child birth? Seems to be a lot of important questions never touched on in the article. As someone considering adoption, I would want to know an answer to all these questions before I thought about something like this.

All those types of questions aside, I have a problem with people taking this route when there are so many stories in the papers about "baby found abandoned in dumpster". Why create another life when there are so many in this world already that for some reason or another someone doesn't want.
