I'd rather be ready for anything. Mankind can't stop everything that may destroy most/all of the Earth, like asteroids for instance..

If the meteor was going to hit earth, this wouldn't help much.

You know they've been working on this for years right? They announced it was finish back in December i believe, but its smart. If a natural disaster wipes out some areas you can replant with the seeds.
