Been following this the last couple days. Doubtful there will be war. As far as I've heard the secession has been peaceful and they have no reason to attack their own people, at one time anyway. Should go over smoothish. I'll be most interested to see, specifically, what kind of govt they establish.
why would anyone care about kosovo anyway...if anything did happen it would probably have nothing to do with kosovo just bigger nations ego tripping around the situation

I wonder if my best friend Adam is still alive. Havent heard from him for 11 years now : (. He is/was a member of the revolutionists fighting for Kosovo's independence (not a joke).

The EU decided that countries have the choice whether to recognize the Republic of Kosovo or not individually. Some countries have already recognized Kosovo, some will recognize in the coming days and some won't. However, many have and will recognize.

Ummm..they were united once, it was called Yugoslavia, remember? And, btw, after that collapsed, the unification idea didn't really go over too well. Remember the mid-1990s?
This only brings trouble for my own country (Romania). In Transilvania, we have a powerful Hungarian community. It's been asking for it's cultural and administrative independence for quite a while now.
Now that Kosovo is a state of it's own, the Hungarian Party here asks for the independence of the province, considering that "If Kosovo has done it, why wouldn't we do it aswell?"

Damn...
In Romania, Romanians are the majority. While in Kosovo, 90% are Kosovo Albanians. This map should help you understand. So the Kosovo case does not apply in Romania.

yeah you should see behind enemy lines, its dramatized but you can see whats going on, pretty ugly back in the 1990s. I don't get why America has to stuff its face up other countries asses (*cough* somalia *cough*) when the UN and NATO is doing its job. Think America think!

It's not about the makeup of the country. It's about the fact that the hungarians in Romania are seeing the Kosovo case as an example. Thus, the small numbers in Romania are concentrated in TRansylvania and seeking independence for their province.

You're either being sarcastic or you are monumentally misinformed.

well...if Hungarian minorities in Romania are being militarily repressed or entire villages exterminated, man killed, women raped, unborn babies pulled out from their mother's womb, etc...i say they should get independence. But i dont think this is the case
