so im thinking of buying a watch, one that isn't way expensive just for everyday use but i dont know which brand to choose from
also on a side note, out of your own experience/knowledge, are atomic watches faulty or can you usually count on them?

I have a Swiss Army although I don't use it anymore because watches just feel uncomfortable around my wrist.

My Dad used to be a computer programmer / manager at Fossil watches, which is a pretty big chain (atleast down here where I live). He used to bring home literally hundreds of watches a year since he could get them so cheap. I used to give them as presents to teachers, friends, counselors, etc. It got so ridiculous that whenever I got invited to a birthday party, my friends would already know what I would give them. :3
Now? I just use a cell phone or my iPod. Like Locketart says, I don't like having a watch hanging around my wrist and I don't feel a need for it either. You really do see less and less people wearing watches these days.

nah...i dont think so.
if you want to be elegant you must have a watch...if you got a cell or a palmare ur just one of the mass of ppl that own one of them,it's strange to see someone that doesnt have a cell\palmare now,i personally prefer a watch to a cell phone and other tech sh!t

Well, it's only a status symbol if you're wearing something that IS elegant. A Rolex would be an example. But not many people can afford Rolex's. In my honest opinion, unless you're wearing some badass watch, if you got a cell phone, don't wear one at all.
If you're wearing a cheap 10$ watch, no one's going to think you're a pretty boy. :3

If you're going to buy a watch, buy a good one - it's not just to tell time. I've found that it's good to wear at meetings and interviews, a lot of old guys will judge a lot from your handshake and what you have on your wrist on the other hand (as well as shoes, belt, and socks, etc.)
In the mid range, i've always been really satisfied with Fossils, Seikos, and Bulovas. I've heard really good things about Invicta, Citizen, and Movado. There's a lot of other brands, especially at the top end of the price range. Look into it, a good watch should last you a life time, and it's well worth it to buy something of quality.
Casio and Timex are a joke, even if you get one of their more expensive models, you won't be taken seriously and their quality is usually not as fine as some of the older and more reknown brands.
A $200-300, or even $500 may not be considered an expensive high end watch, but it's still something that boosts confidence and status.

watches are over, use your cellphone. If you want something overly expensive to show off to ppl do like dom said but watches, chains, rings, don't impress me. Though i do like shiny things...

If you want a really cheap good lookin'
watch get this one brand its call like
Geneva or Jeneva or something I can't read
it lol. But its only about $13 and it looks
the same as a nice gold rolex or something.
But yeah I'll try to find a link and post it.
Mines a modle 5173 *Gold and Silver Rolex'ish*
And its pretty durable and can keep up under water,
Check it out though I'll get a link and try to help
more than just the brand name lol.
