Wow, chances are things wont be the same though. I can't believe that they're actually doing somthing like this... lesbians don't deserve to have their own kids, think they made that choice when they chose their life-style, they didn't want to procreate. You're 100% right. If this method would work, only female babies would be born since they need the Y chromosome. And there is no point in injecting a Y chromosome taken from males. If that was the case wouldn't females prefer a d*** instead?

Scientists are kinda retarded lately. Trying to create sperm cells from females and eggs from males, looks like they're bored.

I read once that the Y chromosone in men is dying, it's somewhere but can't be bothered finding the article on it.
Ontopic now I think this is pretty cool. If cells can be created from certain other kinds of cells, it will open up whole new fields of research. Think about it, with this and the knowledge that we can create stem cells from ordinary skin cells, amputation could be a thing of the past. Arm gets cut off in an accident? "No problem, we'll just grow you a new one Mr. Smith". Utterly fascinating.

I think the only problem with this is that it may be potentially harmful to the child emotionally.

I agree with DotCom. Why don't they waste money on finding a cure for cancer instead of useless things like this. This "scientific advancement" as they'd call it, is going to be completely pointless. The idea will be abandoned or just not supported at all, and nothing will come of it.
