Just copy Chip's Challenge and say it's yours. Maybe change the items in it or something.

Yeah but sh1t seems like this year's popular word on SRF cuz of our beloved Stallowned. I know I shouldn't be saying it all the time but he's got it engraved in my mind
Anyway when I was 10-12, I got possessed into Pokemon because the idea of "owning" something as a result of hard work really appealed to me. That's why in Japan, those little electronic pet thingies were so popular, and thats also why boys still build cars and tanks out of those stupid (sorry >.>) plastic models, and why girls like to dress Barbies (or more like stupid Bratz dolls these days) with lots of their cloths. That and add in a bit of creation, the sense of differentiating what you have from others. Like lego is something that stimulates it because of the creative nature it has.
So, combining all of that. You can perhaps like...make a single puzzle (or lots of puzzles/games they can choose from), and make some price associated with completing them? Like a new avator, house, car, blah blah, so as they solve something they get to collect it and display it.
Of course, it depends on the size of your project. This is probably too complicated for a college assignment due in few weeks, but rather for an entire term's project.
