The level of love towards someone may vary a lot depending on both parties.
I know I'm loved, she tells me everyday, and I feel the same way. We usually joke about it too, ("I love you more!".. corny I know) but in my honest opinion it doesn't really matter as long as it is the same kind of helpless, never-ending love.

Maybe I explained it without considering the reason but I think its straight forward enough.

I think the relationship you are having is probably more or less equal, but that's not really always the case. As much as we want everything equal in this world, something or somebody is always giving more than others, especially when it comes to love.

i'm more of a giver than a taker.

in most of my relationship, i was the one who loved the other.
some of the girls used my love and kindness to get things done.

therefor, if i ever get in a relationship again, it will be with

I'm sorry to hear what happened cin =\ you know my whips will always be there for you. No I mean not for you, but for those girls. Personally not interested in girls but oh well.

But its pretty sad when you are in this kind of situation, it makes is generally hard to love somebody again.

I don't know. I have been thinking about this question since I read it like 5 hours ago. I really can't tell you.

I want to love the person but I also want to be loved equal loved back.. Thats my opinion on this

Neither. I don't like relationships all that much anyways, but my experience (and I've been in both of these situations) is that neither one of them are good. someone always gets hurt and it's stupid, so, if you can't have BOTH, it's not worth it. Unless, you're just banging with no strings attached

and, its really hard to tell if both persons share the exact same feelings.

I always find myself dating girls i find to be beautiful but something about me makes them want to get into these serious relationships and i just dont want that. I'm very mature for my age as i'm told and im only 18 but already ive dated girls that were 20,21, and 25 who have brought up us getting married in casual conversations and i end up having to break away. I just dont want that right now i guess i'm overlyloved if thats possible when i get into relationships

Definitely want someone who loves me equally/more than I love her. It'll make life easier and especially for guys, you wont get taken advantage of by some inconsiderate gals out there -.-

You dont have to completely lack love for the other person to be in a relationship. And you can live as a bachelor/or with your parents your entire life if you fail to see the joy of having a relationship.

Voted option 2, for me to love someone i have a strong need to be loved by that person aswell :]

I never said there's no point for me in any relationship, all the girls just bore me easily, well not all, atm i'm in a 3 year relationship right now, and still loving her to death.

If I HAD to choose one. I would choose to love the person and them not love me. However thats only because, otherwise your gonna be stuck with someone who is madly in love with you, and you don't feel the same.

But as Cin/Deacon have said, I like a happy medium. Love both ways

It's tough, but with the first option, you know they will always love you and there will always be someone there for you.
In the second, you might be worried about losing that person, if you're NOT worried about losing them though, I'd take the second.

If you are, then I dunno, keep considering them both.

I've always been the sort of guy that wishes for such an idealized relationship that it always disappoints me when they don't happen. You know the type of relationship I'm talking about. Holding hands with a girl that you're in love with while sitting on a dock on an empty beach, waves lapping against your feet, watching the sun set over the horizon line together. Maybe seagulls squawking overhead, and the two of us being bathed in the golden glow of the dying sun. Like Hershey and Sylhana, I think you'd consider me one of the most helpless romantics you'll ever meet.
But those relationships never come, and I've been through a million hopes and subsequently, a million disappointments. My friends are constantly criticizing me about how I should just loosen up with my relationships and stop expecting so much - why am I looking for an actual relationship? Because at my age, I should be looking for fun, and not an actual relationship to pursue.
I think that because of my nature, and my views on relationships and love, I always tend to give so much more than I take. And while that seems all well and good, it always ends up in my being hurt, because I like the girl so much more than she likes me. And then whenever the relationship comes crashing down (like it always does), I'm always the one getting thudded against the pavement and concrete, while the girl always seems to pick herself up and walk away like nothing ever happened.

And you know? Each time, I vow to myself - the next girl will be different. If she doesn't love me as much as I love her, or I don't love her as much as she loves me, then it's over. I'm just going to stop it right there before I end up getting hurt again. I keep on telling myself (and I honestly do understand) that love should be a two-way deal. It's a give-and-take game. But when that next girl comes around, it always seems that I inevitably end up being the giver, and the girl the taker. And then the relationship crashes. And the process repeats again.
