Suffering from bad breath

Anyone have garlic breath? Its embarrassing to say this, but honestly, I sometimes keel over when I smell my own breath. Its that bad. Anywhere I go, anyone I meet, my breath is always a concern-I can never take it off my mind, and I do breath tests like every 2 minutes. It sucks. Yes, yes, I brush my teeth 3x a day after every meal and I know how important it is to have have the teeth when you get to be a 100 yrs old. And I cant live on a pack of gum forever. Fellow SRFers, any suggestions?

Get a flashlight, put your face close to a mirror open your mouth, shine flashlight inside. Look towards the back/tonsils area if you have them. If you see white sh1t remove it. You can try using your tongue or pushing it out with your finger or using a toothpick.
If that was the case your bref will be odorless now. (if you haven't eaten sh1t)

And if you aren't afraid of gagging a little just brush the very back of your tongue. I do that all the time and my breath is fine.

some people just have bad breath just like some people automatically have yellow teeth. If this isn't a hygiene issue you might want to try watching what you eat. If it isn't a diet issue just accept the fact you have bad breath and bring a pack trident with you if your worried about talking to people.

Thats what Im afraid of. The thing is, Im the only one in my family suffering from it. And I doubt its my diet, cause they eat the same stuff I do. And I'd hate to be mint-dependent for the rest of my life

Brushing your tongue is probably the solution. If that doesn't work go to the dentist and get a professional opinion.

I know the feeling man trust me when i brush my teeth i make sure i get as far back as i can go and still 2 hours later my breath smells awful, i don't even have to eat anything. You might want to try a nice mouthwash after you brush but even if you don't be sure to rinse your mouth completely after you brush your teeth because ironically that toothpaste thats left behind might end up making your breath smell. Or eat something that smells good like a coffee cake muffin that was yoru breath smells like muffin for a bit.
Still the only solution i can think is the gum or tik-taks.....this is the life you are fated to live full of breath mints and embarrassing moments cause by the lack thereof

Chewing gum actually makes your breath worse. The added saliva makes it worse. Best bet is mouthwash (listerine, although it stings, thats a good thing). Take a pack of listerine around with you. As said before, most bad breath germs are on your tounge, so get a toothbrush which has one of those funky tounge scrubbers on them.
K, I'm out of ideas

Good luck.

Great input from all of you guy/gals, thanks a lot. Soda's suggestion and tongue-scrubbing seem the best solutions
