Anyone else here use a download manager and mind telling me how many kb/sec you get? I usually get around 170 kb/sec at most, but it seems a bit slow even though its still an improvement from downloading something without a manager.

first, you download the manager, install it, etc.
then, you divide that download in a couple of pieces.
mine can divide a download in 20 pieces, it downloads
quicker that way.

im off to bed now, if nobody else can give any tips, i
will write some more tomorrow.

Get a better connection. A download manager isn't going to magically increase your download rate by leaps and bounds.

Speaking of which, my old DDL speed peaked at ~1 mb/s. With AT&T, its at around 170 kb/s. Hurr hurr, downgraded for sixth months.

Flashget. I only use it when I have to download "entertaining computer programs" in multiple parts.

How do you uninstall that download manager from your computer? Cause I tried uninstalling it with no luck. Now my browser download (Firefox) won't work anymore and my comp still thinks i have freedownloadmanager.

For use with Firefox :)

Using accelerator...I can sometimes get up to about 1.7mb/s, with 5 pieces.
