yesh! i can finally see everything clear!
about 6 years ago, i had some troubles reading my school books. i let people
test my eyes, and it seemed my eyes werent that bad, but i had a "cilinder" of
0.5 that was messing up my sight a little. no biggy, i took lenses. However, im
so lazy and have so little time in the morning that i often forgot my lenses or
did not put them in because i didnt really like, need them; my sight was allright
at that time.
Well over the years, it seems my sight has gotten worse. Not my eyes, but the
cilinder; it went to 1,5 instead of the 0,5 that it was. however, i never noticed
this because when i saw some text blurry, i thought it was normal to see it blurry
cause it was hard to see for me. i found out it wasnt normal, when my friend
was standing beside me and could read the smallest text underneath it -.-
so yea, now i got glasses, and its just amazing how much better my sight
has become. i just got em for like 2 hours, but i'm already very, very happy
with em :] should help on my focusing for school projects too, for now i dont
have to put so much efford in reading texts anymore
so, thats my story on my sight. 6 years after i first had lenses i found out
my sight was bad.. anyone else here who had sight problems but didnt
notice until after quite some time? i heard that when my grandma got glasses
for the first time, she could see leaves on trees for the first time =__=

Not really, I've always known my eyesight was horrible. Got my first pair of glasses in 3rd grade. Switched to contacts in 11th grade and I prefer contacts now because glasses felt wierd and looked wierd on me.

pics!!! wana see these hot glasses!~
when I was in high school, I found out I had bad eyesight by doing a vision test in our Anatomy and Physiology class. DIdn't know it until then. I waited a year or two, then went and got contacts. It was like a whole new world! I could see perfectly clear. But, like you, I'm lazy, and I got annoyed with contacts, so now I wear glasses

I've always had perfect vision but lately it's gone worse. I'm probably just imagining that though.

yea well i thought i was imagining too, and because i always saw things a little
fuzzy, i thought it was how things should be seen.. until they first put some
eye correction device in front of my eyes and let me read letters, then took
the device away and all i could see was a blur o.o

Glasses suck ass. I've had a pair now for like 5 years and my eyes have progressively gotten worse. When I was a kid my eyesight was perfect though. I'll probably switch to contacts sometime since you don't have to worry about breaking/scratching them.

Optician could do the test, and get you fitted perfectly with glasses. If you would get your eyes sick :s (for whatever reason) you might see an opthalmologist.
As for me, I'm blind as a bat.

remember when your getting new glasses to tell your doctor/scientist guy to put the prescription at a lower level than what he thinks you should have.
You'll have 20/20 vision for a couple months and then your eyesight will deteorioate and you will have to get even stronger prescriptions after only like a year.
my dad made that mistake and now he wears 2 cm thick glasses dont become like him, I'm trying too

I never thought I needed glasses because I thought I had pretty good sight. Never had trouble reading small text but I did notice objects were somewhat blurry when I looked at them from afar, yet I was able to pass eye exams in school every time. So then one day my friend took his glasses off in class and I put them on for fun. To my surprise I found everything seemed so much clearer, colors a whole lot crisper and I was just in complete shock () to realize I needed glasses all this time.
Now I wear contacts and it's made life a whole lot better.
