School Revolt

...today at school there was big strike by all the school in town (maybe even the country). people threw eggs at the offices of the teachers etc. it's because the government is trying to add a 9th hour to schooldays. which would mean that we would be a school from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm...ya that's pretty crappy. but anyway it was pretty messed up. one of my teachers actually tried to give a three-man lesson (though later on more people came so gathered up to about 12, the rest had allready left school). most of the lessons got screwed up.

9th lesson... That would suck hard... I mean 8 lessons on one day are bad enough... Well if it ever add a 9th lesson I'd just skip it.

this is in the netherlands, we have a 20 minute break at 11:00, a 30 minute break 1:00 and a 10 minute break 3:10 but no1 ever actually does that one cuz it's too short to notice, we just go to the next lesson . we can get out a little earlier this way.

lol.
the netherlands..
the kids on strike dont even know what the hell they on strike for. they just
do it because they know they will get a day off that way. its insane, thats like
on highschool; the kids are 16 n under. when i went there, i didnt even know
how many hours i was going to school each year... and them "organizing" a
riot.. they could never have done this alone. there's probably been some dude
telling em to, some kindof brain behind all this.

It's retarded. There are so much children who'd love to go to school but can't. Sure if people disagree with something you have a right to speak out your mind. But eggs? Wth, the whole shopping center is all over with that stuff, stores had to close because those idiots started destroying things and stuff like that. If people don't agree, they can show it in a decent way at least.

lol, what are they complaining about? They are gonna be screwed if they ever get jobs and have to work more than that. My job is 8 til 5 and college is 9 til 5:30.
When i was in school a school day was 8:45 til 2:45 and it sucked because it was so short. A few of us used to stay in and do extra maths and science after school sometimes. They didnt really have enough time in the school day to teach us everything so they had to be a bit vague in some areas. We stayed in after school so they could explain those areas properly.
Im not actually sure if those teachers got paid for that, the school day for them finishes the same time as ours. By the time we left only the caretaker(janitor) and one of the receptionists and sometimes a few teachers were still there.

Lol thanks to those kids I won't be having college on Wednesday / Thursday / Friday. Because the kids of our professors are striking they need to be home or some crap.
Pretty gay tbh we really need to catch up .. and now this bullshit. If I knew any of the bastards that were on strike, srsly slap them silly.

Please dont

, I also walked along last friday but only for fun because I didnt had lessons for 2 hours so that fitted perfect and I returned before my lessons started again. I agree its just to get a day without school and most people dont even know why they are doing this. Even worse where the arrests the police had to make, 23 in whole Holland last friday, thats just going to far and has no use.

I used to love my school days, lunch was an hour long and lessons were so short by the time you've settled down to do anything it would be time to leave. This years schedule looks like this:
825 - Registration
840 - First Class (Generally a Higher)
955 - 20 Minute Break
1015 - Second Class
1105 - Third Class
1200 - Forth Class
1255 - 45 minute Lunch
1340 - Fifth Class
1430 - Sixth Class
1525 - Registration
1535 - End of School

When I was in highschool
go to school
8:00-9:15 - first period
15 minute break
9:30-10:15 - second period
15 minute break
10:30-11:45
45 minute lunch
12:30-1:15
go home
My school had 350 people in it at its peak, and was about the size of a large walmart. We only needed 2-3 minutes to go to our locker and get to the next class, 15 minutes was overkill. If it was 5 minutes we would of saved 30 minutes a day and get home at 12:45. And, at that early you don't need a lunch which would save another 45 minutes and we could of be out at 12

You are all VERY mistaken, the reason 'we' (as in I don't participate since I'm in my exams year) strike is because we have to do more hours, BUT those hours don't get filled in right. We gotta go 1040 hours to school a year, and that's OK, but we don't get lessons, instead we get bullshit classes, like sitting in school having to do your homework, and that just doesn't work when you got 3 classes a day and 6 'classes' where you can do your 'homework'.. That seriously sucks, so we are on strike for a better schooling system.. To benefit us all..
Nevertheless that's not an excuse to go about destroying random stuff throwing eggs and toilet paper all around. That's just the students that went all out and don't know what they're on strike about in the first place..
One of those people was asked what they were on strike for, and he simply replied: "Against the teachers!" I mean seriously WTF?
Besides the teachers are with us anyways, they actually planned the strike for themselves, but couldn't do it in the end. So we did..
anyways that's what i wanted all ya to know..
/end rant

..i know, i wasn't participating in it either, though i drew a revolting bunnie XD. though i understand that we don't want 9th hour i agree. but 1211...actually i like those 'homework hours'. they end up giving you more freetime at home, and you don't have to do a subject that your not in the mood for.
