Recently, it seems I've been getting crap for speed on uTorrent. Ports are forwarded. ISP is Comcast. I have heard they tend to screw around with BitTorrent, but only for upload which is fine for me. he;lp

You're having problems with uTorrent ?

What speed are you uploading at though? No upload means no download, and if you are on Comcast, they are probably blocking uploads to external hosts. Comcast's entire userbase is one gigantic leech. This is why your download suffers as well.

I'm getting a lot slower speeds or few seeds for certain downloads, but then again I just downloaded a cd in 20mins.
only reason I can explain this is that some torrent sites are being taken offline, possibly people have stopped seeding so much for precautions.
I don't know anything about Comcast or your computer, so I'm just guessing about this.

sometimes my upload become more than my download sometimes my download go 0 and upload still working and i didn't finish yet ,and i am using utorrent 2

42-45 kb/s. Usually higher than my download rate for who knows what reason. Positive ratio as well.

anything reacting to something not useful is just as unuseful.

anyways, im not an expert.. but i sometimes have the problem that my torrents
will run on very low speed, and then resetting my network helps.

Hmm, that's odd. How many seeders/leeches are there? It could be that the rest of the leeches in the swarm all have their uploads blocked while there is only a couple of seeders. At least, that is the only thing I can think of.

This tends to only work as a temporary solution. Usually, after a network reset, my download speed goes along as it normally would before plummeting down again. Mind you, this is after a very short time frame.

Example torrent: 800+ seeds, 80 seeds connected, download rate fluctuating between 20 and 40, peaking at 50. Its been about the same way for all of my torrents recently. I'm sure its not coincidence. The only thing I can think of is a problem with Comcast, but I don't want to be too quick to jump the gun and change my ISP.

i was actually reacting to the way he went crazy because of what happened (not going into details since its all over now)

Anywho, ontopic. Alot of ISPs do block or slow down torrents, they deny it but it happens.

Also, hardly anyone seems to seed these days, they dont seem to understand torrents are peer to peer and without people seeding its gonna be slow or files are not gonna be available.

It's like in my country there's a major ISP company that's been hosting game servers for gamers in our country... and that company is making sure that other gamers using other ISP's to not have an enjoyable gaming experience(through DC's, delays, and lags).

I'd be inclined to blame Comcast first, especially since you have uTorrent set up properly. As long as there is no caution sign in the bottom of the window and people are seeding to you, you shouldn't have any problems downloading. You could try looking at who is seeding to you to see if there are any patterns though.

Don't blame me because I'm on Comcast.
I keep my torrents up 24 hours after they finish so if no one comes on during that time that I can seed to they go to the bottom of the queue.

It was the first thing that came to my mind as well, but I'm having doubts since the download speed problem is somewhat recent, and I think I've had Comcast since the summer. Didn't have problems like this back then.

It can't be counted out though. Comcast is doing a rolling installation of Sandvine hardware it seems, so when your connection starts being fiddled with depends on where you live. I didn't see my uploads being blocked until a month or two after the initial reports.

Yes, I think I will have to get a new ISP, unfortunately.
