I where I live. We don't have SATs. I didn't even have to do my grade 12, the universities offer solely on grade average and I received my offer of admission before the first midterm of my first semester in grade 12.

Dam I wish it was like that in the US. If I was judged solely on grade point average, I could probably get into any school I wanted.

If you get an athletics scolarship to an NCAA sanctioned school, you are still required to take either the SAT or ACT. You know that, right? By not taking one of the two, you are deemed ineligible by the NCAA. And you have to meet a minimum requirement on the test.

he will take the SAT, however he won't try as hard. I'm warning you of slacking off. A lot of people who get accepted to great schools sometimes get rejected because their senior year performance is terrible

Yup. And if he slacks on the SAT and doesn't meet the requirement, they might even yank his scholarship offer. Unless he's a really highly touted recruit, then they'll help him retake the test and hope he passes the requirement.

Just talk to the admissions department. You'll get all the requirement information you need. Michigan is a pretty good school, so I'm sure it's somewhat tough. Probably not quite as hard as Stanford lol.

sry, i meant that u'd have to work hard to fail senior year and receive bad scores on the SAT. if he already has a full ride for swimming, then all he needs is average SAT scores and keep his GPA.

lol omg guess theres another option. My parents keep telling me U of M is an uber elite school while my counselor tells me its fairly easy to get in if your doing all the right stuff. I even asked her if a 3.9 GPA is different from a 4.0 when applying and she said no. Plus, I'm even considering an early application, then you have even higher chance. Only downfall is that you can't apply to other schools. So choose one and your done
