Let's make a little game here, if languages assisted to a special school for languages, what would their roles be?
Spanish: The popular jock, team cap'n!

If Spanish is the popular jock and French is the hot cheerleader, then what does that make Italian, Portuguese and Romanian?
And if German is the goths, then what does that make English and Norwegian?
If the languages are assigned by how many speakers they have, then Mandarin must be the average kid, and Italian must be the jock, right? For every speaker of Italian, there are 14 speakers of Mandarin, 5 speakers of Spanish and English, and one speaker of French.

Native or incredibly fluent speakers? Basic English is a very widely spoken language in India and China as well, making it a little less than 14:5 ratio. Or at least I think so.
Anyway, I think Norwegian would be the class clown

Those numbers are for native speakers I believe. But anyway, there are three ways this topic could go. Either languages are grouped by their origins, their popularity, or people put their own languages into desireable roles.

chinese and indian kids can be the nerds
almost every chinese and indian kid at my school is a nerd
all they talk about is math and semester grades
then they try to act white by memorizing football players' names and arguing with each other which NFL team is better or not. Its so lame

the way you study them is important.. actually I find spanish better than dutch, and its not because i speak it
Anyways I think we should all ( i mean ALL ) should make a international language, because, with all the respect, english is like..hum.. incomplete in some ways. for example words doesnt have gender, you have to say: lady/girl/female friend or boy/male friend. In spanish, french and some more you can say, for example, in spanish: amiga and amigo. In spanish you also dont need to use always he/she/it. if you use it once and then you are talkign about the same person, but in anotehr sentence, you can take it out, for example:
she likes to eat meat. she is kind - ella disfruta comer carne. es buena.
(there you are taking out the second she)
i have to admit that english sounds better and its good to make music, but you may like to admit that english is not as complete as other languages
