Road Rage.

Road rage is a term used to refer to violent behavior by a driver of an automobile, which thus causes accidents or incidents on roadways. It can be thought of as an extreme case of aggressive driving.

From the perspective of law enforcement and transportation safety officials, because cars give people a sense of anonymous power that explain such confrontations, road rage and aggressive driving manifest themselves in actions such as:

·speeding and aggressive acceleration
·tailgating
·rolling hard through a toll booth at speeds greater than 80mph, to scare anyone and everyone within viewing distance
·cutting others off in a lane
·stopping two or more vehicles for an impromptu and unsanctioned boxing match in the median
·aggressively swerving one's vehicle back and forth across both lanes of a highway until spinning out and sliding into the median causing a rollover
·weaving in and out of traffic
·forming "jerries convoy" to block access to a traffic lane
·sounding the vehicle's horn or flashing lights excessively
·rude gestures (such as the finger)
·shouting verbal abuse or threats
·forcefully and quickly engaging the brake then gas in a repetitive pattern.[citation needed]
·deliberately hitting another person, vehicle or object with one's own vehicle.
·hitting a person or vehicle with an improvised weapon in response to a perceived wrongdoing involving a vehicle.
·threatening to use or using a firearm or other deadly weapon.
·pursuing for retaliation or revenge of a real or perceived slight.
·driving in the passing lane and keeping pace with the car next to them to enforce the speed limit themselves
·interlocking bumpers with a car that is slightly ahead then slamming the brakes to rip the bumper from their car
·throwing objects from a moving vehicle with the intent of damaging other vehicles
·opening a box of nails or a quart of Quaker State and emptying the contents onto the roadbed

In my opinion road rage is something very common but only at the point of swearing and perforimg bad gestures out of the windows, here in my country it just goes as far as that most of the time.
Do you ever lose your temper while driving? How often do you feel like speeding a lot?

these are my three.

i speed a lot. no, i dont drive insanely fast. i drive 90-100km/h where i am
allowed 80km/h. people drive faster when they overtake, so i say thats no biggy.

agressive acceleration? idk what they mean by that, but i do sometimes make
a good 0-100km/h at a traffic light when driving back from work behind a slow
truck the whole way.. but meh.. only when the engine is warmed up tho.

tailgating, i think that means "bumperkleven" in dutch; driving like.. 20 cm
behind the guy in front of you.. ya i do that when people drive 40 where they
are allowed 50, or drive 60-70 where allowed 80, or drive 120 on the left lane
of the highway, allowed 120. i dont always do that, just when people are
getting on my nerves big time. i only had it twice that people pulled over to
let me pass.

last, the verbal abuse.. ya i call people names. they only hear it when im in
my moms car with the roof down tho, so not really a problem there.

overall i drive just fine. im an excellent chauffuer and stuff, i have good overview
of the traffic.. and i think thats the reason why i allow myself to tailgate or
accellerate fast sometimes.

Tailgating is pretty bad even at a low speed, I always keep 5-10 meters of distance between my car and the car in front of me, what if the guy suddenly stops (happend to me like twice with that distance)

I usually find myself speeding at 120 kms/ph when 90 is the limit but at weekends I pretty much always have to drive and I don't drink at all so I consider myself a responsible driver.

only time i get mad while driving is if i'm behind a selfish tractor who wont let cars past, or behind someone who drives 40mph on a 60mph zone (usually old people.. in suzuki wagons).

i guess i speed a lot.. only when it seems safe to though.

I would say I have a small bit of road rage. I speed, and yell from within my car at the other drivers on the road, I get frustrated in traffic jams. But I think my problem is I expect everyone to drive a certain way, and when someone does something stupid around me like drive slow, cut me off, dont use their blinkers etc... I think to myself (and most of the time out loud) what an idiot!

But I was living in a very populated are before and I just moved to the complete opposite... lucky to see a car on the road after 6pm lol. No more road rage. :)

All of the above, except I've only ever had a BB in the car.

As for speeding, I switch lanes more than anyone you'll ever see.

but that's the thing. they're Supposed to drive that way. If someone is going too slow and cause traffic, they can actually get ticketed for it. along with all the other things that make them differ from the common traffic.
I just wish people would learn how to drive

I go well over the speed limit pretty much wherever I go. I'm actually a better driver drunk. I have A LOT of pet peeves, especially on the road. I hate being behind bikers, they go 15 mph if that and speed limit is 30, get off the Farking road. I hate being behind slow drivers, I usually just tailgate them as close as I can get to their bumper without touching it, If I have the slightest chance to pass them I do so with a little flip of the bird to show my appreciation. I'm getting aggravated just thinking about the moronic drivers here in Seattle.

i get quiet mad alot cause of the stupid people out there, i mean who the freak gave them a freakin license. when i see a stupid driver cut me off or stop for no reason i get pissed, for example , my favorite is to get in front of them and basically go under speed limit so they are forced to slow down, if they try to pass i just speed up to block them again ... its my calm way of releasing anger, other than that im the safest driver out there. :D
