somehow i feel as if our generation is becoming desensitized to the bomb issue...which is weird cause its not even like we have explosions going off left and right like in some countries, we just have the threat of such explosions...

there was a smokebomb at my school once :D made by a friend of mine.

but the only thing that explodes in my school is illegal firework but no bombs here :)

In my college we once actually had a real fire so we had to stay outside for 3 times as long. Do you want to know what the fire was? Its was some paper, in a bin, in a lecturer thearter nobody was using... We had a MUCH higher chance of catching pneumonia standing ouside then we did catching on fire on the inside.

Anywho, ive only ever been near 1 bomb scare. We were heading back to our car in a multistory carpark but it was all closed off cus they thought there was a bomb in a car. I think it turned out to be a sandwitch in a bag...

Kids nowadays are like "oh.. yay another bomb threat... let's go outside and wait"... I remember when those used the scare the living crap out of every single person in the building, ol' gud times

i've always hated fire drills

seriously, when theres a fire your suppose to get the **** out of there

why would u take your time and form a line and walk out of there?

because when ppl panic things get crazy the doors get blocked then no one can get out. As cheesy as it sounds if ppl followed the fire drills they'd be alot safer. + i don't kind get a small break from class.

Yeah, but the thing is, in the event of a serious fire, most kids would forget everything and run out the farking door, pushing other kids in front of them, and doing whatever to ensure that they get out of there.
And if a fire is closing in on them and fast, it only furthers my point: most kids are going to be trying to get the **** out of there, screw their classmates and orderly processions. I think it's only natural instinct.
I highly doubt that in the event of a real and deadly fire, kids are going to line up single-file, no talking, and then walk out the front door calmly, and watch the school burn down.

Just my two cents.

I never had a bomb threat in highschool, and we only had fire drills once a year, if any.

Might be due having ~350 people from grade 7-12.

i could see that happening if a fire was raging through the entire school but chances are it'll have to start off small and isolated when the fire alarm goes off so most the the school will be extremely far from the danger. I think besides a select group of ppl most of the school would be able to evacuate properly. Also for all you know when the Alarm goes off you'll probably just think its a fire drill unless told otherwise.

@dom wow i think 350 was my original class in 9th grade. must've been like 15 kids per class for you.
