Is Japanese a hard language for an european?

I'm 17 and i'm thinking to learn some Japanesei'd lik cause e to go there at least once...is there anyone that know japanese? it is a hard language?i've heard it sometimes in some cartoons\mangas i find it a nice language,
at least how they speak in toons\mangas.....japanese korean and chinese are almost the same ..right?xD


PS:i dont know nothing about those languages just asking

i think it's hard, because all arabic/asian languages differ soo much from european languages.

japanese and korean have an alphabet, so as long as u know the alphabet, u can "read". Then it's just building up ur vocabulary.

however, there are also kanji characters in japanese, which are basically traditional chinese characters. u'll have to memorize them.

chinese is just memorization. no alphabet, but thousands of characters to use.

oh yea, u gotta get the tones right when u'r speaking too.
