Anyone know how to get 100 fps on cs 1.6? I remember my friend saying it you had to change some settings on your computer or something like that.
I think you need a good graphics card right?

lol @ good graphics card.
You needed a good graphics card for it in 2004, now you can do it on almost all integrated graphics cards.
fps_max 101
You may also want to turn off VSYNC/AA/AF via your graphic card settings.

Fun fact, especially for those that play games that requirement more then a calculator and want to squeeze out the best quality/performance ratio:
The average human eye can only detect up to 73 frames per second. More experienced gamers, and other types of superhumans, can see up to around 100.

I always wondered why people told me I was an idiot when I said I could tell the difference between 50 and 70+ fps. I'm sure your monitor's refresh rate has a big impact on that though.

Definately. I was actually playing around with my refresh rates, earlier today. I thought my screen was dying (first generation LCD) because all my vertical lines look extremely blurry. It was my refresh rate.

I dont see why people want frame rates so high in games, im happy with 25ish (although most of my games run alot higher than that)
25-30 frames per second is what the majority of television and movies are recorded at and i dont see people watching TV and complaining the FPS is low!

In WoW, and specially in PvP you'll want at least 35 FPS
when stationary so youll be able to still get ~25 FPS when batteling. Try PvP with less then 20 FPS once, it sucks balls ._.

Playing competitive CS with anything less than 75 FPS is impossible for me.

I think "smooth" gameplay is 30-40 fps.

lol @ texture map facing a wall...
Because of my graphics settings, I get 60-80 FPS. However, with extreme tweaking, and super low res, I can get 150-220. Also have a screeny @ 1280x1024 with AA 8x AF 16x looking at floor with 211 FPS...same thing as above, but with graphics.
Note: with source. I could do 500 fps on 1.6 with a calculator.

All the edits you need to make are in your video panel in the options menu. Other then that, you need to tweak your graphics settings; that's done out of game.

I wish I could be happy with 25. I ussually perfer 40 or so FPS. In some RTS's I can stand 25 or so.

Until you play competitive CS with 100 fps for a few months, then try to play with 60 or under, you will completely understand. That's all I can say.
