You can now download the Guild Wars client for FREE off the official site....

This is great news if you were planning to play the game but did'nt wanna buy the CD.

Nah they did'nt....Only happened to have that on the site like 1 week ago...I only check it once every week.

The client download was available for a long time now. But you still need a cd-key to play.

Yeah you need a key for each campaign to actually be able to play the game.
GW is a great game, been playing since the beginning, Anet would be insane if they made it completely free.

you can buy key from the gw shop once u launch client or from internet, you need a credit card.

Nope, I usually just download them somehow...I downloaded burning crusade and the original and other stuff.

Having the same problem, so Im just posting in this topic instead of making a new one. Some of my friends are playing gw, and they do off course have a cd-key, is it possible to use one of their cd-keys, or do you actually have to buy the game?

You have to buy the game, unless they give you their account info, and you can play on their account. But I'm pretty sure if a cd key is activated, it can't be used to activate for another account.
