all the stupid marketing calls i get are either recorded messages or foreign people who barley speak english. They only know how to respond if you say something the computer they are reading from knows how to respond...
They wont go away until you have hung up though, i answered once, said hello and then just shut up. The dude at the other end just kept saying "hello, sir?" until i got bored and hung up.
