You should check if they have a dictionary.

I just got banned from there for 3RR, which is undoing somebody's edit to an article more than three times in a day

the ban was unfair (in my opinion) because the other guy was edit warring too.

Oh wow, I remember you were the guy who made the post trying to convince everyone here to **** up one of their articles because you disagreed or something.

Im surprised at how people remember one another and their actions

anyways I'm banned forever

I personally think it was a good thing because I'm a high school sophomore

and I think that I shouldn't be wasting time on wikipedia and instead study

I dunno, all my teachers tell me if I use wikipedia as a source, I'll get a bad grade on my report or project.

Wikipedia must suck balls because they tell middleschoolers not to use it either

Wikipedia is the best way to learn the most about a subject in the shortest amount of time possible. What wikipedia is good for, is prereading; afterwards, you can begin to draft. You cite the same sources that wikipedia has, and you add quotes from books at your library.

+1

It's an excellent way to get an understanding about a subject if you're completely in the dark. Personally, I like it.

Like dom said, only use it to get the broad picture of your subject. I fell into the Wiki rut in like 7th/8th grade and there was no pulling me out.

People like you are the reason sites like that don't work. You always have some pricks going in and screwing stuff up.

I wasn't a vandalizer 0_o

ive been contributing a lot since 1 year and half ago

and the block was unfair, like seriously unfair. Im not just saying this like little kids do when they lose or something

And wikipedia has too many problems (that could be fixed easily)

90% of the vandalizers are anon users (meaning only their IP adress show up). Make a rule that only registered users can edit, wow their stupid

And the elitism is what scares everybody off. Editors think that noobs suck and should stay in the background until 5 months later, until they can start doing stuff.

Unless what you write in is accepted and meets all the requirements (and there are about 50 policies for you to read), your edits just get thrown away

its a moderated website which is set up that ever visit has a chance to add, delete, edit information on it aka wiki. this means a few things one been the information is not always 100% accurate or true but also means things can be updated fast and without delay if hundereds or thousands of people are viewing a topic that is constantly changing such as latest news
