If someone could recommend me an online typing test that works online, it would be great. I type decently fast (by my stantards) and i'd like to see your results in comparison to mine.

As for Cruor, if he wants to participate: no HTML edits or anything simmilar.

So, someone post a test and let us see the results :)

Speedy fingers don't count for nothing if you can only go from CTRL+C to CTRL+V.

Everyone should take the same test. I suggest mine since it starts the clock for you and gives you errors/net speed at the end. I used The Wonderful Wizard of Oz for my text.

on the http://www.typeonline.co.uk/typingspeed.php one, I did it three times (99 WPM, 101 WPM, 100 WPM) with 0-2 mistakes each. I made more, but I had time to correct them.

Wikipedia wrote:In one study of average computer users, the average rate for transcription was 33 words per minute, and only 19 words per minute for composition. In the same study, when the group was dividing into "fast", "moderate" and "slow" groups, the average speeds were 40 wpm, 35 wpm, and 23 wpm respectively. Two-finger typists, sometimes also referred to as "Hunt-and-Peck" typists can reach speeds of about 37 wpm for memorized text, and 27wpm when copying text.

An average typist reaches 50 to 70 wpm, while some positions can require 80 to 95 (usually the minimum required for dispatch positions and other typing jobs), and some advanced typists work at speeds above 120. As of 2005, Barbara Blackburn is the fastest typist in the world, according to The Guinness Book of World Records. Using the Dvorak Simplified Keyboard, she has maintained 150 wpm for 50 minutes, 170 wpm for shorter periods of time, and has been clocked at a peak speed of 212 wpm. Blackburn failed her typing class in high school, first encountered the Dvorak keyboard in 1938, quickly learned to achieve very high speeds, and occasionally toured giving speed-typing demonstrations during her secretarial career.

Not hard to cheat fena.

On this test, my real results: 97-105 @ first try, before knowing the test. Then it's significantly faster.

Jezus, I still don't get what you guys are trying to say.
I was kidding on the first one, as it wasn't that hard to figure out, but like I said, I took the second one for real. I did the Wizard of Oz one like Cruor. We had to use this typing program called PAWS or something from 1rst - 5th grade for 20-30 minutes a day. There was some other program that I forgot the name of. Took you through all these lessons and where to place your fingers and everything.

Is 125 that much...?

According to Wikipedia that's equal to the fastest of those who make typing their profession.

As for myself, the only formal typing class I ever had was a one semester "learn to use MS Office" class.

And where's [SD]Stress? I want to see how fast the challenger types. :P

Yeah, but then I guess you could say that I took typing classes for 5 years? And it's not like I could maintain that speed anyways. When I read something and copy it, I can do it fine, but when someone's talking, and I'm trying to type, I mess up after two sentences.
Yay, 125 words a minute. Now I got a hot girlfriend and a 12-inch dong. Yippee. I win at life.

Dude, I don't need to come up with a "good" answer. I was being sarcastic, trying to say that it's not like I win at life because I can type 125 words a minute on a one-minute test (and yes, I took the one-minute version). Meaning, yay, I can type 125 words a minute! Do you guys love me now? Do I get a Cruor's Seal of Approval? Do I have a million dollars, a lakehouse, and trust funds in Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Paris?
I don't GET anything out of cheating on a damn typing test!
