I just got an ipod video off my friend and when i plug it into my pc nothing comes up in itunes and when i check My Computer its like its not connected at all. All my friend said when he gave it to me is that he didnt charge it for along time cuz he lost the cord to connect it to his pc.

Anyone ever had this problem?

Did he accidentally erased all the contents of his iPod?...

Hehe, does the iPod have a Mac configuration? As in; Does he use mac and you use Windows? If so, get him to format the thing(Via iTunes), and then you can use it.

Thought it does say it needs to be recognized in my computer.

Are any other forms of external hd recognized in my computer?

Every iPod will have this problem. If you don't charge it or turn it on every 3 months, the battery life will go down and eventually won't work. You probably have to replace it by Apple now cause I did with my Shuffle.

Nahh, the battery works. When i put it to my ear i hear fast beeping sounds. i think its just the screen. Gahh
