Cant sign up for youtube

I tried signing up for youtube just now, but no matter what name I try, it says its taken
anyone else having this issue?

It could just be that the name is either taken; or you may be using invalid characters..

Looks like you got beat out by a 46-year-old from Belgium who never used his account past watching 1 video. Doesn't it make your blood boil?
Sadly, the only way to get the username you want at sites like that is to register in pre-beta. Or if you are lucky, inactive accounts will be deleted and their usernames are allowed to be reused.

If that dont clear it up, try contacting youtube.
