He was better than usual but I don't think that good. However he really came out against Roddick, and Roddick gave up on his down the line backhand, just stopped trying, but Gasquet played very well the latter of that match, Major-Level.

Gasquet was incredible that 1st set against federer!! He got cramps (or was really sore) at the end of the 11th game though, you could see him bend over and he didn't move well after that. Gasquet's backhand is the best in the game today, and I think we're gonna see a lot from him in the next few years.... (never been wrong about who's gonna rise to #1 in the last....er.... well besides Roddick 4 years. Lol ). Gasquet was playing a lot better those last 2 sets against Roddick though you're right. I think he would've been a lot better had he not cramped / grown tired / whatever happened.

ahhh, Roddick, hopefully JC will straighten out his ground game... maybe he should get McEnroe for his volley game then US might have a champ.

I agree w/ Gasquet's backhand, it's too good, but his mental game is lacking, also, why does everyone say Djokovic is the next #1? He's good, but not #1 quality...

I think Djokovic is good enough to make #1 for a few weeks, but I think he'll be the type of guy who hangs around the top 5 for awhile, not really a number 1 type.
I gotta say I really like Gasquet's game right now. His mental game and fitness are definitely improving imo.
