Farking FCC

In USA it's required to have closed captioning on all television broadcasts. Every Farking time I try watching USA channel, not a damn show is Closed Captioned. Thus I can't understand wtf is going on half the time. The channel has good shows sometimes, but I can't watch them.

I go to the FCC site, and the complaint form sections wont even load. Useless government.

Yeah, everytime after some show, they're like, "Closed Captioning Provided By..."

Or something like that.
What the hell IS closed captioning? Lol. I'm such an ignorant Texan. Oh well, all we do down here is send people to death row. Yee-haw!

Closed Captioning is the text that goes along the bottom of the screen. It helps deaf and hard of hearing people like myself, understand the television programming better.

Um. I live in TX, and I never see any words running along the bottom of my TV shows? What kind of shows are you watching? I hear that "Closed Captioning Thanks To..." after most shows, even Friends, but I never see any words...

Oh, okay. Gotcha. :)
Well, if watching USA is that big of a deal to you, I suggest you gather about 10,000 people, and march on Washington to complain. Hell, I'll join you. :P

i'm hard of hearing =(. been that way for all 14 years of my life T_T.

The technical terms for my hearing loss are as follows: Severe to profound, bilateral, sensori-neural.

At lower pitches my hearing is severe, for higher pitches, I'm deaf as a rock.

Edit: Yes, hearing aids are expensive, mine were $2k each.

Every time I put the tv to USA channel, I never get any captioning at all.

Could be the cable service or something. You or whoever owns the cable connection should call up your provider and ask em WTF is up hehe.

You see, very few people understand my viewpoint. Very few people in this topic realize what it's like, to have people always pointing, always being put to the side, simply because you have something in your ears. This is a very serious topic to me. Right now I'm getting pissed off, because some of you seem to be poking fun at the whole thing. What do you think you would do, if all you can do while watching tv, is wait for some big action to come up on the screen, because you can't understand anything they're saying.

I'd continue on, but it will just build my anger even more, to those that are poking fun at this topic, simply "**** you."

although im not deaf or anything i know how you feel. In my house some people wake up because of the smallest noises so if i watch tv at night volume has to be down really low. I need closed captions to know what the hell is happening.

I don't have a TV to watch.

Calm down.

I can only imagine how hard it is to be deaf, or even hard of hearing. Is there nobody you can contact in order to ask whats going on, and if others do get CC on USA network, perhaps a problem in your local area? In which case perhaps you should contact your provider rather than USA network itself.
Anyway, good luck :)

I can hear fine I guess. But I like to watch TV with CC because I get to learn new words everyday. Well, I am smart, but I did not grow up with English-speaking parents, so it's useful for me to learn English words that I did not learn in high school. I learned lots of political words just from watching television with CC, words like status quo, right-wing, liberal, etc.

So I'll will writing a letter to them.

this is mildly important to me too but i didn't get offenced
hard of hearing people misses out on some aspect of life you wouldn't think about.

1) When someone talks, you gotta look at them. or else you don't even know they're talking to you. at ALL.

2)Watching in a cinema, it sucks. you're always like, WTH IS GOING ON?!

3)People keep asking you "can u hear me?" and then treat u weirdly cuz you're hard of hearing

4) hearing aids help but there are some stuff hearing aids can't fix.

anyways, joey, watch canadian! i always get subtitles in canadian t.v. =D.

Being in the minority sucks

The only info i have on mine is my hearing is "moderately reduced" or something.

I'm sure you've thought of this already but in case you haven't, do you have your Closed Captioning shit turned on on your TV menu under the set-up screen? Just a thought.

Ya know, now that I think through the beers that I drank, I'm sure you DO have it turned on by now so just never mind that I even posted anything...I'll just sit here and be drunk.

watch w.e show you wanna watch on youtube, or dailymotion the real drama shows like prison break etc always have subtitles.
It must be annoying to be hard of hearing and like watching TV, and no music in life at all.

you never know , in a couple year they might have a treatment for it.
