well i only know people straight edge who listen to music like punk/metal/hardcore and any thing similar becuase thats were sXe came from

p.s. bands i like are parkway drive(very good),hatebreed,as i lay dying,wish for wings,powerslam,i killed the prom queen but they broke up = (, atreyu,xbishopx,alleged,cutting it short,antagonist,daylight curse,killswitch engage and more but so much good music so i really can be bothered naming all of them

they sound like fun

Can anyone explain me what actually are we takling about. Like sXe abreviation and what does it represent? And from what I understand it has to do something with metals and mazochism ~_~. Cos I listen to metal and have some mazochistic thoughts (from time to time). I dont dress like those goth/black/hardcore metals thought . So a simple explanation is apreciated...

Straight Edge is a weird lifestyle ... but some of the Hard-/Metalcore Bands living that style make kick-ass music

for the most part, every straightedge punk Ive come across is a rude prick. The fact that people are straightedge hardly ever is conveyed in a positive manner, which it should be because honestly -- straightedge is only about living clean but still participating in something that holds "shock value."

The last fight I was in was with one of these "hardcore, straightedge" fools who was getting down on a friend of mine because he smokes marijuana, I f*ing destroyed him despite all the crap he talked about being hardcore and all the moshpits hes been in etc, etc, etc.


so for the most part, I am negatively biased to anyone who is "straightedge" -- and I hate their haircuts too....>.<

What exactly is sXe or staight edge. Is it some kind of lifstyle that originates with a particular style of music? kinda like emo?
