General discussion is "general discussion about silkroad"
Offtopic is "general discussion"
LOL...and to answer the question, it used to be that if you were a gamer, you'd wait a year or more for a game to be released on apple after PC. Now that apple is actively trying to run windows apps, I don't know if that's true anymore.

apple design > most pc/laptop designs
mac is a good OS imo, i use it at my work here sometimes. works well, but
for me.. i been on windows since my first computer and i use heavy 3d progs
that cannot run on mac..
so for me, windows > mac.

Apple pwns all. Especially when it's....
APPLE SLICES COATED WITH PEANUTBUTTER!!
Serious, I heard Apple is better if you're on the graphic side and all.
For games I wouldn't go for it, but who knows what the future holds..

the hardware nowadays is alot similar to one another if im not mistaken.
mac's are always behind in processors etc, because they have so few lines

yeah, my friend wants to get a macbook ... (something) because it came with good hardware like remote control, dual-intel core, 1 gig internal drive etc.
and it had a lot off cool software like addons but it was rly expensicv lol
I don't really give a F about software only hardware to run my games

the macbook has the same hardware as any other laptop except for the case. However it is overpriced and I know at least some of the graphics drivers were crippled for windows (which you can run on a mac). So if he is not going to use mac OS X then he is wasting money and possibly getting worse performance.

mac seems to be good for media / design (photoshop, illustrator, etc.) but
SolidWorks wont run on it

I prefer PC for gaming. Not a fan of Apple though. They don't make anything I like.

Aesthetically speaking they are really nice and the simplicity and ease of use is also good but like people above said, they can't run a lot of games.

I am by no means a mac user nor do I suggest people get them but. These days macs can run windows so all the gaming arguments go out the window because the owner of said mac can simply install windows if they so desire. Yes this does take more space than it has to but for those people who really want a mac and to game it is a IMHO good solution
