I work in electronics, and lately games come out, such as Halo 2, ShadowRun, both say Vista only. Then they say that they come with a month of Live. What the **** is this shit? Making us pay to play fps games that we've been playing for free for so long? Making us buy a shitty os just to play those games? **** vista, **** Microsoft and their scam.

And actually, PC online is free.(Playing with other PC users.)

But Live is not.(Playing with PC users AND xbox users.)

Halo 2 Does work on XP but the online is tied to vista

As long as Vista is a bugged piece of crap I will stick to XP and classic games

just download vista via torrent, problem solved, microsoft can suck me

Games that Microsoft makes will probably be for Vista only and on their Live payment speil for online gaming. Other game producers probably won't do this, since making their games Vista only will narrow their possibility for profit.

Yeah, but M$ is probably only going to use Live for Halo 2 and any other newer 360 titles they make for PC also. Wouldn't make sense to play online with Halo 2 PC for free when console users have to get Live in order to play online. Other stuff should be ok. Microsoft is just doing that Vista only crap with their games so they lure you into buying Vista.

Sure, some people will buy Vista to play those games, but I'm sure not everyone would. I mean there are plenty of other games out there.

If they're smart, they forget about the whole idea.
I'm sure they'll earn more money that way.

Hmm, Vista costs alot here... and if u look it this way, you need a good computer with loads of ram to get Vista working good... which leads to buying a new computer.... in the end Vista costs $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ my man!!!

$215 for an OS that is unnecessary isnt cheap, its a waste of money. What doesnt XP do at the moment that you MUST have vista for? (besides dx10, cause it wont really take off for some time yet.) I can play games i want, watch my movies (vistas DRM prevents even some original bought dvd's from playing ), surf the net, etc.

Its not a matter of affording it, its the question of what benefit does it have right now over XP to make me go out and buy it. None.

Yeah i was watching G4 Tech TV and they were talking about Halo 2 for Vista. yadda yadda yadda, eventually they said it was initially made to run on vista only because of its better capability. (Online play of course)

I've never tried Vista but I will eventually when I build a new pc. Probably won't build a new pc until next year but Vista's bugs will be fixed by then hopefully.

I like mouse, it beats controllers any day so I'll still buy it. Companies need money, and I'll willingly be the consumer.
