D-Day

Today is the anniversary of D-Day when the Allies landed on France coast in 1944 - the most remarkable day in WWII. I hope ABC show 'Saving Private Ryan' tonight :P.

It's one of those movies everyone has seen but me.
I've seen the beginning, but not much further.

It's a Steven Spielberg's movie. You both are gonna like it.

Like 'Independence Day' is shown every July 4th, this movie should be shown every D-Day.

I haven't seen that one either.
Movies I've seen by Spielberg
Jaws > bad
ET > great
Jurassic park > bad
Schindler's list > great

That's about it. But if I check the list of other movies he made, I'm not impressed.

im starting to think that if a couple more WWII FPS games come out allies are gonna lose sooner or later...

The Longest Day is a great movie btw.

And honestly, yes the amount of coordination and execution on D-Day is simply masterful, but I'd argue that the Battle of Midway was a bigger turning point. By summer 1944, Hitler was basically screwed. He was already on the defensive and was getting pummeled day and night by bombers he could barely try to counter.

if ur from england (Uk) i think saving private ryan is on this weekend or friday cnt member iv seen adverts for to be on soon, film rules imo
