I'm sure there's nothing on Google Earth our gov't wouldn't want the public to see. And I'm sure they've been able to do this (with much much more detail) for years now.

I think this is a great actually ^.^ I love it when something new like this comes up and still "wows" me. For all of you concerned, don't be. If someone really wanted to do something bad to you they would. They didn't need google before and they don't need it now.

Wait...
This stuff isn't in real time, though, right? It's still frames, taken a long time ago... so you can't REALLY spy on someone. Unless someone was dancing naked in front of their door the second the frame was taken.

Then they'd be in trouble. :P

Youtubeee.

Actually the US government made them remove their airforce bases from their ressed in area due to security matters. For most bases anyway.

Not been updated in over a year. They're just images from Google Earth. They sent a satellite up to photograph the earth in that way over the space of a few months.

I see the same images for places I've lived in as they were a year ago. Some of these were in central London.

If they updated it frequently, they'd update the cities first I think so don't panic.

It was a one off which may be updated once things start going out of date.

Nope. Anything out in the public is just that...public. Photographers only have to get model releases signed when photographs are taken on private premises.

You could stand outside any US Airforce Base and take pics of anything as long as you are using a normal lens and not some super zoom spy one. As long as you are standing on public property, nothing is illegal although the Governement would like to have you believe different.

If you publicise it you might get sued for harassment?
But I'm not sure.
