try a combination of menu, the center button, and play, and mashing two of them at once to restart it

either that or let it drain the battery by itself.

That sucks lol.
You can borrow my mp3 player, it's a cheap Packard Bell and it has like 128 mb and it nearly falls apart, BUT it's still working. :D

Nah, serious, isn't there some kind of help site for this kind of problems? Or a store you can bring it to to fix it if it doesn't work?

Or call the company and DEMAND a new one.

If all else fails:

My sister has had her ipod freeze on a song about 3 times, only way we could get it to work was charging it after the battery ran out.

Which series is it? For the iPod nano, it's center+top button, hold it for 5 seconds. It resets then.

and tried what it says to reset and nothing

Maybe it's a perticular song that has an error and causes it to freeze?
I really have no idea, I don't have an Ipod myself.

just hit it, that will fix it... or try touching all the things you see in it, and try it also touching it with a pencil, and then hit it a little more, then shout, start singing all the songs you had in it, go to get some chips, go back to your room, take your iPod, sing the 3rd song of your iPod, and then touch it saying: homo sapiens! and it will work

I let the battery run out since hitting it and smashing buttons doesn't help

If you're still within the return policy, get an exchange. If not, contact ipod support, from what I've heard, they've got better support for their mp3 players than most of the other companies out there.
