I remember seeing a person killing them selfs in some sort of rituals. The people were tribals of course and canabals, too. The movie was in black and white and totally real from what I understood.

One guy disembowls himself in it, pretty crazy stuff. I would have to find it again .

But there was a video on eBaums of a guy who had larva living in his back during a camping trip, so I wouldn't think this type of this is too far fetched.

Actually some larvae don't eat living tissue, only dead one. During the WWI, if I recall correctly, where they discovered that solders who had their wounds infected with larvae actually heal better than the others. Turns out, the larvae eat the rotten tissue and thus affectively clean the wound for the injured men. Also, the larvae release a chemical called 'allantoin' that has healing effect.

There's a reason the article is under "urban legends and folklore." Just read the end of the article for the actual facts. But there have been cases where people could get this kind of thing after trips to places like the jungles of Africa and stuff. I saw once a guy had a "pet" parasite that he had from one of his trips. He had it removed because of the pain it was giving him though.

The picture is fake, clearly, but the video is real enough.
