well, i was lookin online at my credit card statements today, and there was a 50 dollar charge from XBOX live... now, the funny thing is... i have NEVER owned an xbox....

the people at xbox live were assholes and even tho i told them it was a fraudulent account, they wouldnt reverse the charge, or cancel the account.

so i had to go through fraud at my bank, have them cancel my card, and send me a new one, and deal with the charge through the fraud department...

awesome. :)

notify one of the three credit bureaus that you may be the victim of identity theft. They can put an alert on your credit file (with all 3 credit bureaus) that makes it difficult for anyone other than you to open any any charge accounts. It will be a bit more time consuming for you, but safer.

I'd also pull your credit report and see if there's anything unfamiliar on it. You can get a free copy 1x per year from each of the bureaus.

All this info is for the US only, not sure where you are form.

PM sent

for others to get a copy of your credit report go here:

https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

Google it to see for yourself if it's legit.

The three main credit bureaus are Equifax, Experian, and Trans Union.

Lots of laws are in place to try to help consumers, but ID theives are prettty slick.
