Guys, just out of curiosity, who among you listens to death metal? like that of Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Spawn of Possession, Children of bodom and Regurgitate?

children of bodom is not death metal. They are part black metal and something lower then death metal. So, that means no death metal, part black metal and something else.

hhmmm i understand why many cant appreciate these types of music but try to listen to their lyrics it has sense in a way. Especially those with controversial topics in their songs. Also the faster beats they produce, really a music to the ear but not for some. \m/

mm personally I like the agression in the music.. the sound of raw guitars.. the kickdrums.. the vomiting screams.. haha ok sounds freaky but yeah lol

the rythms in grindcore are just lovely.. you only have to be able to listen to it in a 'serious' way even though the themes are not always serious just let the music get inside you.. let it get together with your frustrations and hate

And under any circumstances.. listen to every instrument at the same time, see the songs complete as one whole thing, and notice how some guitar riffs and drum beats are just so heavy you want to bang your head along haha

o well I might sound freaky.. but yeah I grindcore

just try it, when your alone, bang your head along, and try to catch the rythms , lol

alot of people dont like death metal and similar types of music becuase they dotn actually listien to music, they just have music turned on.

To enjoy death metal you actually have to put in effort to listien to everything thats going on. Kinda like what Wu is saying

I have friends listening to this kind of music... well I dont like it, vocal are usually poor :S well the instrumental part is technically dificult, but it doesn't sound right to my ear, I dont like speed drumming and speed guitar

COB is melodic death metal... Morbid Angel & Death = true death metal

COB are my personal favourite . But I listen mostly to PanterA and Marilyn Manson, sometimes even Exodus or CoalChamber, or even Evergrey .

I listen to some black and death metal sometimes. Dimmu Borgir among others. Only thing I don't like about em is they think they're vampires, and that vampires automatically have gollum-like rhaspy voices.

thats what they say about the 16 year old chicks singin
about the love of their life aswell .

i think its more about the whole "scene" and everything. i
cant listen to it but its more than just the music i think.

i dont mind ppl listening to it but i do mind the metal scene.
sometimes you see some guys on the street all dressed in
black and white painted faces and thats what i dont like about
it.

i mean, can be cool to look mean and dangerous and like
a vampire till your about 14 but after that you really should
think of the simple fact that later on, you must try to find
yourself a job and meet new ppl and everything. the whole
black scene doesnt make that easier on ya.

metal. like i said its fine for me if they listen to it. i just want
to make the point that, if there is ppl on this forum that dress
in black all day long and paint their faces white, youd better

every scene has its way.

IMO I think people who paint their faces and wear gothic dresses are kinda ga.. well to say it in a nice way, its just totally not my thing.

But you have 'gangstas' rappi'n about their bitchez and drugs and 'poppin' their enemies etc, thats not healthy either. Children who get raised in streetgangs etc.

and ofcourse the 'nazi' cultures etc etc

some scenes are just rotten.

I just use extreme metal to deal with my everyday frustrations. Some people misunderstand the idea behind metal.

Some bands misunderstand the whole scene.

The way I see it, 90-95% of the people that listen to extreme music have the wrong idea of what its all about, and why the scene ever was created.

To make a long story short, people dressed in black with makeup dont belong in the extreme scene IMO; they should stick to nu-metal. were talkin about death metal here

i mean, its not only the metals in black.. like you said its
also the gabbers with bold heads, the rappers with the
clothes round 10 sizes above their actual size, etc.

i like a lot of different music styles, but ppl must not forget
that they only look "cool" and "tough" with ppl that actually
think the same way as they do. but a future boss, or a teacher
at their school will definitely not appreciate them looking like
that.

u shouldve mention punk bands that wear clothes 6 sizes too small
