PvE VS PvP
In guild wars for example, we have huge debaits on this. Skill updates like the one last week "nerfed" soul reaping(gain energy when creature near you dies) and pvp players got pissed. Some skills have a decrease in usage and pve gets pissed. Which side should have a more of an influence?

ofcourse not.
PvE is the most improtant, cause that's a thing what ur gonna do ur whole gaming life. PvP is a thing what ur gonna do if ur probably a higher lvl.
And you can't PvP if you haven't PvE'd much.

PvP and jobs are what makes the game fun, rather then senseless grinding.

Depends on the game. GW, I'd say PvP. PvP is where the big tournaments are, with decent cash rewards for winning. PvE, you run around fighting a bunch of retarded AI for hours on end, each mob using the same tactics as the mob before it. One skilled monk can keep you alive through GW's entire story (7 wars + 1 monk = hella fun). PvP on the other hand, people other than the monk's skillbars actually matter. Everyone caps at 20, so it's skill over grind, which is part of what I like about GW. Can create perfect items on PvP-only chars, so that's not an issue either. Hell, you don't even have to ever PvE if you don't want to. So yeah, in GW, I vote PvP matters more.
Then you have SRO and other MMO's where time spent grinding and leet items > player skill. Since the majority of time would be spent in PvE grinding your ass off trying to reach level cap, I vote PvE matters more.
